Indonesian Silk Elegant Weaving from Garut, Java

This is a beautiful example of contemporary silk weaving from Garut in West Java. Its handsome geometric shape and supplemental weft design are complimented by woven accents on the fringes. The colors are very subtle and sophisticated Burgandy with yellow gold supplement. Very interesting piece which was a highlight of my recent wandering in West Java. This piece was woven on a ATBM loom (Alat Tenun Bukan Mesin) or Non-mechanized Weaving Tool which allows for it's width.
